There are lots of different sharks. There are more than 250 species of shark. One of the biggest sharks is the megalodon the megalodon is extinct. The smallest shark is the dwarf lantern shark. The megalodon can get up to 40ft. The lantern shark can get up to 17cm.
The great white shark is the most common shark. Great white sharks have the most attacks on humans. They can get up to 12ft and weigh to 3,000 pounds. Unlike most sharks the great white puts its head up above water. The reason why great whites attack us is because they think we are seals. Seals are sharks normally eat.
One of the uncommon shark is the spiny dogfish shark. The spiny dogfish is a small schooling shark. It is gray or brownish on top of a pale gray or white. The average length is about 75 to 105cm. The shark eats several types of food. They eat cod, haddock, hake, herring, menhaden, and ratfish. They also eat inveterbrates.
